"I began working with Eli a few years ago when I still lived in Charleston. I was dealing with some patellar tendonitis that I couldn’t seem to shake, and I saw him training other people at the gym I was lifting at. He seemed very knowledgeable so I approached him and asked if he could help me. He suggested a PT that he worked with regularly and I began working with the both of them. Well...within the first 30 minutes of working with Eli, he was able to identify my main deficit. I train in Olympic lifting and was lifting enough to be competitive in the local meets I was doing. Eli found my weakness fast and began helping me work to create balance with my lifts. Fast forward a couple years and a move out west, and I was still dealing with the same issues. By now I had seen multiple PT’s and had a procedure with a sports doctor to try and fix my tendonosis for good. No one approached my problem by trying to fix the imbalances I had (my hamstrings and glutes weren’t working like they should...the issue Eli figured out in the first half hour I worked with him).
Eli offers to help me again with my problem and imbalances, and he began programming for me. This was not an easy road, and he definitely challenged what I thought I knew about lifting and technique.
He has broken down every movement, rebuilt my squat, and helped me get back to Olympic lifting...all PAIN FREE! Eli was able to do what no PT could do because he actually listened to me and helped me fix the root cause of my issues...not just put a bandaid on it.

I've been training with Josh for going on 3 months now. As someone who tends to be a little more cerebral about the exercises, I've found Josh's approach to be just what I need. He has a deep understanding of the neurology behind the exercises and takes time to carefully explain how each movement engages different muscles and activates specific neural pathways.
His style of training is helpful/adaptable to both beginners and seasoned athletes. Josh has a natural ability to break down complex concepts into understandable terms, and most importantly, you can tell he is in the business because he enjoys seeing people succeed.
I recently had an awesome session with Eli! He taught me the proper mechanics of basic strength movements with great detail and patience. I don't know my way around a gym, so Eli taught me all the basics. He then set up a personalized hypertrophy program for me to build full body strength. He made me feel empowered and psyched to get stronger and do it the right way. I highly recommend going to see Eli!
I only wish there were more stars to give Eli! I have been training with Eli for about 4 months now. I am 58, over weight, haven't exercised regularly in many years and it didn't faze him at all. My goal was to play Pickleball and to be able to get up and down from the floor with my grandchildren.......I am now playing Pickleball and moving quite well plus I am able to get up and down from the floor, stairs, etc. He makes himself available, he is knowledgable, patient, kind and very professional. I worked with Eli for a bit of time while I was in Charleston. A lot of his learnings have stuck with me since that have helped improve hip mobility and allowed me to pull heavier weight, safely.

Started several months ago with Dani as my trainer, she is absolutely amazing! Super knowledgeable and fantastic at making individualized sessions with her clients based on what you want to learn and progress in. Big Work as a whole is an amazing and intimate gym and there is always staff available to assist in workouts or the equipment!
After searching around for a trainer who fits my sport-specific and injury-specific needs, Dani and Eli have gone above and beyond my expectations. They were able to resolve two years of chronic pain, and helped me reach my goal of returning to rugby sucessfully.
Eli is an amazing Trainer I am being trained for almost a year and my progress is incredible, I recommend him percent, my postures have improved 100%. the pain that I had when doing squats I do not have it any more. I have learned how to use a strength belt, powder, straps, etc. He is a great coach, respectful, kind, and knows how to teach and treat people. I am very happy with his work I highly recommend him .

I can’t say enough great things about my experience with Eli! When I started I had little knowledge of strength training, and very little time spent in the gym. Eli has a vast knowledge of the human body and is excellent at educating on proper technique and good form. He keeps a detailed spreadsheet that you have access to during each session which helps familiarize with routines and see the progress you’ve made since day one. The routines change every month so you are always learning new things. We’ve only been working together for three months- not only have I gained muscle, I’ve gained true motivation and confidence to continue strength training for the long term. I chose semi-private sessions and Eli is so efficient that each person gets one on one attention throughout the entire session. Eli is awesome with people, always positive and truly eager for your success. I absolutely recommend to beginners, the experienced, athletes, and anyone who is looking to gain effective skills for maximum results.
Eli's programming is science based. He has very clearly studied what works and what doesn't, and his programming is a reflection of that. He developed a program for me that specifically addressed my goals and points of weakness while emphasizing results, safety and proper form.

I have only had a few sessions so far with Eli, but I already can feel results as far as my alignment and form. I have been so impressed with Eli's knowledge and attentiveness during our sessions...I have never done one on one work with a trainer before and it really makes such a difference having an expert by your side making sure you are working your body in the most safe and effective way possible. Eli is an absolute professional, while at the same time keeping the mood light hearted and fun. He didn't even seem phased by my smelly sneakers!
